Brussels
"Azorean Colours" is the title of an exhibition that was viewed in the European Parliament from the 20 th to 23 rd of March 2016. The exhibition was organized by five students from my painting studio at the invitation of Sofia Ribeiro, Member of the European Parliament, under the scope of a cultural exchange. The inauguration of the exhibition was attended by several figures from the political arena, of which I highlight the presence of the Vice-President of the European Parliament, Mrs. Mainred Guiness; the Portuguese ambassador in Brussels, Dr. Nuno Brito; and Mrs. Sabine Bourdy. Also noteworthy, was the presence of the President of the Portuguese Republic, Dr. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa. One of the highlights of the trip was the presentation of a painting alluding to the terrorist attack in Brussels, in 2016, which was given to the president of the European Parliament. This exhibition was scheduled for 2015, but was canceled due to this attack. I then had the idea of showing my solidarity with the Belgian people through a painting.
